As a country known globally for beers rather than bubbles, people are often shocked to discover that England has a long tradition of wine-making from the arrival of the Romans 2000 years ago to the present day.
Particularly famed for sparkling wine, the country has even seen the big champagne houses of France buying up land in this area to produce their big brand bubbles.
Join an expert guide on a different sort of safari. Meet award-winning producers. Discover vineyards in bucolic surroundings. Hear why English Sparkling wine seems to be winning the ‘Battle of the Bubbles’. See and sip Ortega, Bacchus, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & Pinot Meunier- the ‘big five’ of English grapes. Enjoy tastings, tours, an included lunch and transport from your hotel to three very different wineries doing great things for England’s reputation on wine’s world stage.
